Sleep Apnea And Insomnia Sufferers Should Seek Help Urgently
Sleeplessness and trouble sleeping are not just inconveniences and they certainly are not health problems to be taken lightly!
There have been many instance of death directly related to sleep apnea and falling alseep while driving is only one way that death can arise. Many patients who die in their sleep from heart malfunctions are the sufferers of sleep apnea.
The constant stress of sleeplessness and the tendency of falling asleep at inappropriate places and inappropriate times is so strong that chronic depression is often experienced. This can result in the loss of employment and sometimes the family.
When is it inappropriate to fall asleep?
When you are visiting a friend’s house and you fall asleep while holding a cup of coffee. Coffee spills all over you which does not matter but also over friend’s new white carpet.
While interviewing a client and you realize she is looking strangely at you and you do not remember the last few seconds. That is inappropriate!
I have suffered from sleep apnea for forty years although I did not know what it was. My Dad had insomnia so I thought it only natural that I should suffer from it too. In my early years it wasn’t so bad and I put up with it. It did not stop me from achieving any of the goals I had set.
I certainly did not think it was such a problem I needed to see a Doctor for it. That would be a bit spooky!
When things progressed to the stage that I could not operate a computer without falling asleep every minute and jerking myself awake, my wife insisted I do something.
The crunch came when she found me with my face on the keyboard and I did not seem to be breathing. She thought I was dead. No just dead asleep.!
Why am I talking about falling asleep and insomnia at the same time? Because they go together. I would apparently lay awake all night and have a compulsion to fall asleep during the day.
I lost my business, most of my money, and very nearly my wife!
Yet for sufferers of sleep apnea and insomnia there are various treatments that work or, at least, alleviate the problem. Women sometimes suffer from it but the majority of sufferers are men.
Men - stop trying to be macho! Get treatment before it is too late!
