Have you considered a CPAP Machine?

Are you suffering from sleep apnea? Then perhaps it’s time to consider a CPAP machine. You may not like the idea of using one of these machines but sleep apnea can be a very dangerous condition that you should take seriously. Headaches, the build upof poisonous toxins in the body and even death can be caused by sleep apnea! So of course a CPAP machine is preferable to these physical problems associated with sleep apnea.

If you’re unfamiliar with a CPAP machine, this device is like an oxygen machine you may see in the hospital. There is a face mask that slips over the front of the nose and mouth and which gently forces oxygen into the body at a steady interval. This means that when sleep apnea strikes and the body stops breathing on its own, the CPAP machine will keep it supplied with oxygen regardless. Potentially this can lifesaving if you have severe sleep apnea or night-time breathing problems.

Your insurance company will probably cover the cost of the CPAP machine if prescribed by your doctor. They may seem a bit cumbersome but most who use them state that they adjust quickly and find that it doesn’t interfere with their sleep and their comfort the way they thought it would. The doctor will need to advise you on how to set the machine so that you are using the right oxygen pressure. Once you getto grips with using it, a CPAP machine is pretty straightforward.

Of course the best thing you can do for your health is to address any problems that may be causing your sleep apnea, rather than simply relying on a CPAP machine. If you’re overweight or obese, it’s time to face that issue and address it. Few people want to accept this fact and of course this is a difficult problem to conquer, but it can be done. As well as obesity contributing to sleep apnea it also has many other health issues associated with it. A CPAP machine is a great tool to use to keep you healthy and breathing regularly at night, but isn’t a substitute for taking care of yourself overall including watching your diet and exercising regularly.
